Coconut Jam is thoroughly delicious eaten straight from the jar with a spoon but here are a few ideas for using coconut jam in a dinner party worthy dessert.
Chocolate & Coconut Tart
This tart features a blind-baked shortcrust pastry case with coconut jam filling and topped with melted dark chocolate. The slightly salty pastry and the bitter chocolate are a lovely and necessary counterpoint to the intense sweetness of the coconut jam.
I used a half quantity of the pastry used for my Apple Pie. This made three individual sized tarts. I used about 30g (1 oz) of chocolate per tart.
If you are looking for a gluten free or vegan pastry I would recommend the pastry recipe from my Pear, Prune & Almond Tarts
Tropical Coconut Tart
A blind-baked shortcrust pastry case filled with coconut jam and topped with passionfruit, kiwi fruit and grilled pineapple.
Tropical Coconut Pudding
Tart tropical fruits pair well with the sweet coconut jam. Garnished with macadamia nuts.
Coconut Chocolates
Use your favourite best quality chocolate to make some delectable chocolates. Dark chocolate is best.
