In My Kitchen: October 2014

I am so pleased to be participating again in the In My Kitchen series hosted by the fabulous Celia from Fig Jam and Lime Cordial.

I have been so busy that I haven’t spent as much time as I would like baking in the kitchen however there has still been time for plenty of sweet treats!

I was given some lovely macarons from Vanilla Pod in Ascot.

We bought these beauties from Mediterranean Flames in Holland Park. I ate the baklava and it was thoroughly delicious.

I made some waffles for breakfast one lazy Sunday morning. Aren’t the strawberries great at the moment?

I made these sugar cookies. It was the perfect play date activity for my daughter and her friend; they had so much fun!

And better still, there were some left over for me!

I have been taking some other photos in my kitchen, near the window, where the light is good.

I bought this orchid from Big W. I don’t have a very good track record with orchids, or any indoor plant, so I wanted to take a photo of while it was still alive!

These lillies are from my mother’s garden. She is a keen gardener.

  1. Those beautifully decorated biscuits want to make me rush out and buy some biscuit cutters. Yes, the strawberries are great at the moment, I was ‘forced’ to make jam. I would kill for a waffle right now.

  2. Beautiful photo’s and yes those biscuits do look that a fun activity for girls, I’m glad there was some left over for you! Thanks for sharing! Liz x

  3. I used to love decorating cupcakes and biscuits with our daughter. Your photo brings back those memories. She loved to make heart shaped ones for Valentine’s day, especially. Very funny to photograph your orchid while it is still alive! They are supposed to be easy to care for, but like a lot of things, I think it requires a certain knack for it. Thank you for your kitchen tour Stephanie.

  4. Your spring kitchen is full of gorgeous sweet treats, Stephanie! Beautiful orchid, although I don’t have a good track record with them either. And aren’t strawberries amazing at the moment – just $1 a punnet at our local supermarket last weekend!

  5. Lovely lovely things in your kitchen! Those biscuits are so pretty and I love the baclava and the macarons too! Orchids always do all for me the the bathroom – I guess it’s quite damp and rainforest-like in there at least a few times a day! Your mum’s calla lilies are stunning!
